"The Andean worldview reads the sky: the Milky Way as a sacred river, the dark constellations and the energies of each season. Discover Q'ero spiritual astrology."
Long before telescopes, the Andean peoples already read the sky with precision. The Milky Way, called Mayu, the "sacred river", was the axis that ordered ceremonial life, agricultural calendars and religious festivals.\n\nUnlike Western astronomy, which observes the bright stars, the Andeans also observed the dark spaces between them: the "dark constellations". These shapes, such as the Llama, the Serpent or the Toad, hold the moisture and the life that nourish the Earth.\n\nEach season of the year brings a different energy: flowering, rain, sowing, harvest. Andean astrology does not predict individual destiny like a horoscope; it marks the pulse of collective life and of the relationship with Pachamama.\n\nThe paqos consulted the sky to decide the dates of ceremonies such as Inti Raymi or Qoyllur Rit'i. The sky was the sacred calendar that synchronized the life of the communities with the rhythms of nature.\n\nReading the sky with an Andean gaze is recovering a wisdom that reconnects us with the whole: learning that we are part of a greater order, and that the stars and the rivers, the mountains and the people, dance together in one sacred universe.

Las constelaciones negras

Las formas oscuras de la Via Lactea eran tan importantes como las estrellas: representan la oscuridad fertil donde se gesta la vida. Observarlas es una llave de la astronomia andina.
